Pros

I'm working 12 hour shifts so there are a lot of days off when there is no overtime available Employees are friendly Jobs are fairly simple and the pay is good Opportunities for advancement within in the company and through tuition reimbursement if you pursue continuing your education Lead and supervisor on my shift spend a lot of time helping employees fix problems with equipment on the lines

Cons

Breaks are short, and only 3 in 12 hours- my last job I worked 12 hour shifts and we were given 4 (20 minute) breaks in 12 hours. Overtime is usually posted last minute, and due to the company having difficulty getting the shifts fully staffed

Pros

New CEO has some great plans. Office is casual (can wear jeans everyday), and it varies department by department, but mine is really great with work/life balance and flexibility. For example, most of my colleagues commute around 45 minutes a day, some from the city. Some come in early and leave around 3, others come in around 9/9:30 and leave around 6 to dodge traffic. Benefits are fine - 100% 401k match up to 5%.

Cons

Maternity and Paternity leave are pretty terrible (only 2 weeks paternity leave). You must use all PTO before using FMLA. It doesn't affect my job specifically, but they are working on consolidating resources and offices, so some plants and offices are closing (that's just business, though). Although it is casual, it is still a little on the old-school side, although it seems to be moving in the right direction.
