Pros

Cafe, riding culture if you're in to that

Cons

Management constantly tells you if you work hard you'll be recognized but that isn't true. If you're not in "the club" you'll be constantly overlooked. If seen so many people put in amazing work and then leave because of how there were treated. Trek switch to "performance based reviews and merit raises" a few years ago so they could stop giving regular merit raises. When you finally get one, it amounts to less than you would have gotten if you had just gotten 2% every year, but they get to make a big deal about it that way. Pay is far below Madison averages and benefits are not competitive. Also do not care about developing employees. Literal quote from the CEO about their Great Places to Work Score "Do you want to know how to raise your score? Fire all the unhappy people!" They consistently score low on compensation and benefits and refuse to address it - they spend all their time focusing on where they scored well but will never talk about how they can improve where they did poorly.

Not a place for working moms

Pros

The coworkers and team members are some of the best people you'll ever meet. Everyone is really there to do great things and make the world better. Team members are supportive and caring.

Cons

Management does not care about employees, only the bottom number. They preach a family culture and environment, but will treat you like garbage if you're not giving them literally everything. They will fire a 6 month postpartum mom instead of giving a flexible schedule to be able to be with her family more and not work 50-60 hours a week. They will also expect you to give up your nights and weekends because they will let go of other team members and expect you to pick up the slack with no extra compensation or reprieve of other jobs. All for "the good of the company" because "we're all a family and it takes everyone to move forward". Stay far far away.

Pros

The people are fantastic, some of the best people I have worked with. Everyone wants whats best and everyone works well together. Great perks and awesome working with likeminded individuals. Everyone loves the outdoors and values time spent outdoors.

Cons

Management is horrible. I can confidently say my boss at Trek was the worst boss I ever had. Executives do not follow or believe in the values of the company. There is no structure, its a very go with the flow company which at first is fun but when you have been there for 2 years with 0 review/ update on upward mobility it gets old. Its also very tiring when you constantly put all your time and effort into preaching the values and upper management treats your efforts as a joke. I worked 60+ hours a week and was so passionate about helping individuals find jobs and I was not thanked by one person upon my departure. Its very clear that Trek treats its employees as just a number and its a shame because they preach otherwise. They are going through an insane amount of layoffs right now due to missmanaging finances and I would stay far far away from this company. Additionally, pay is HORRIBLE for not just HQ position but retail as well. They try to get you as cheap as they can and constantly undervalue individuals. They promise merit increases once a year but no one in my time at Trek on my team got a raise despite the tireless efforts we all put in as a team. Its such a shame because this company could be great. Its far from it. Additionally, diversity and inclusion is not top of the list for them, they look to hire the same person over and over. HUGE FLAG.
