Pros

Mostly good people, interesting work. Always something new. Challenging if that's what keeps you motivated. Likely a ship that will turn around soon.

Cons

Burnout. Unrealistic expectations. Below average compensation. Declining morale,

Pros

Better than most other bike shops. They have resources to help you improve as a mechanic and very good benefits.

Cons

It is corporate so you have quotas for repair times pushed on you from people who don’t know anything about fixing bikes. If you have good in store management then it is fine but, I imagine it would be bad if your management wasn’t as good as mine. My store is also the highest performing in the country so corporate probably isn’t very concerned with micromanagement. There is also a large lack of diversity in the employee’s which leads to behavior that might make people who aren’t straight white men uncomfortable.

Pros

Profit sharing, top notch training, room for promotion

Cons

Business first emphasis doesn't match up with customer's expectations of a bicycle shop
