~The hiring/onboarding process, lack of communication on what you need to do and there were several issues with being able to finish all my paperwork
~The systems use by purchasing-wise, maybe training and help would make it better. Company-wide systems-training would be helpful, especially as a new employee. Lack of knowledge of the resources/systems, or given "band-aids" by IT even though there are plenty of people that can help.
~Dallas is just one division in the group, but it seems like the divisions do not share training, help, guidance, etc to each other. You are left to figure it all out on your own.
~I was hired to do one job, but have only done the day-to-day (because short staffed), which is a demotion for me. Not only is that NOT the job I applied for, but it is not fulfilling/challenging enough to me; I am bored and starting to get complacent. I keep getting "told" it will get better but sometimes I feel like these are empty promises, but do not blame my direct boss completely (part of the public corp flaw)
~Work-life balance is not the best. Long-long-long hours and will have to work while you are at home with your family (beyond 9 hours a day), don't plan on eating or taking any breaks.
~PTO falls under here too (also in Pros as far as how much you get) Maybe it is because we are short staffed, but you don't actually get a day off... You WILL still work even though you used PTO hours...
~Short staffed, and then management (and really every other dept) has high expectations of the purchasing department. Other departments have enough people/get more people and there is not a lack of resources...
~They laid off several people at the beginning of COVID. Now we are short-handed but makes me concerned about job security sometimes
~It is a "pro" that TriPointe expects you to take "ownership" of your work and they value your opinion, but most times management will refute you since they think they know best
~I think the office could be more orderly and clean, especially with COVID. My area was not cleaned before I started (also included several dried up spills, dust, stains, etc). It was up to me to clean someone else's mess
