I very much appreciate this feedback and will respond to a few of your points. But, all of these are worth a discussion if you have time. As a company, we are very fast paced given our desires to learn quickly and grow. We are very transparent about our pace when people interview, to do our best preparing people for our mode of operation. We move quickly to learn quickly, and then take those learnings to make the company and its employees better. In regard to parking, that is an expense some employees would benefit from, but many would not. We have tried to focus on benefits that will benefit the most people. With that said, I will definitely look into what it would take to expand our parking options in the future. Targets are always a lively discussion in sales. We, as a team, are one of the growth engines of TripAdvisor, and our targets reflect that. Further, our accelerators, for those that over perform, are amazing. We want to truly reward those that excel. What I would ask of you, and everyone on the team, before asking to lower targets, is to look for ways to achieve the targets that are given. The company wants us to be successful, and we want the company to be successful. I firmly believe we can come up with new solutions to help us reach our objectives. One area that we are completely aligned on is that we do have some amazing people. And more amazing people are joining every day. As I have said in other posts, the people are one of the main reasons I have been at TripAdvisor for 6 years. And the EMEA team is awesome! Please let me know if you would like to discuss further – I am always available. -Sam Thompson, Regional Director of Inside Sales

Pros

- Good benefits package and plenty of useful amenities - free lunch twice a week - Dog friendly office which has been very popular with staff and makes for a great office environment - Stronger communication on key changes than before, something the company is learning to improve at - Great vibe and generally a good office, with good people

Cons

- London is not head office - this causes frustrations for some in terms of autonomy and where major decisions are made but there is a need to be realistic - Business is going through a period of change which can be a little difficult, but it is a necessary review of the structure of the teams that make up our business

Thank you for your feedback and for your continued dedication to the TripAdvisor team. I appreciate you acknowledging our great benefits and transparent, positive culture. As a longstanding TripAdvisor employee, you’ve seen TripAdvisor go through periods of change throughout the years. While change can be difficult for any organization, it’s necessary in order for us to refocus the business and accelerate our progress across all business lines. Change is exciting because it also presents new opportunities for all employees as professionals. While some decisions are made at HQ, all decisions always include input from our global teams. We recently added site leadership teams around the globe to further ensure that global offices have appropriate input and influence in decision making. Thanks again for your review and as always, please continue to share your feedback with your manager, people operations business partner and site leadership team.
