Pros

Varied and challenging work. good benefits package. For the most part the working environment is one that is pleasant.

Cons

stated raise schedule is seldom held to. Technology road map is poorly managed and not integrated. The city itself is poorly managed and there are few career opportunities. The city in general sells each other cheeseburgers and insurance.

Pros

Very good pay for an entry level job. Provides an opportunity to serve the public in law enforcement without the risk of injury.

Cons

Poor management, office politics, no clear direction, management that does not listen to or take care of their employees. This is a stressful job, made even worse by the amount of petty behavior between management and floor employees, as well as between the floor employees themselves. In addition, being a City of Tucson job, raises are all dependent on how well the city manages its money, which is poor. I worked their five years and the only raise I received was a COLA raise in my first year.
