Tutor Doctor offers higher wages and more professional development and curricular materials for tutors than its industry competitors. The clientele (students and families) are friendly and fun to work with. The franchise for which I worked was well-run by its owner Jill. She is kind, encouraging, and a consistent, clear communicator. Her background in education helps her match tutors and students well.

Cons

Offers fewer hours than its better-known competitors (it is a smaller company and less known) Part-time contract position; a side hustle rather than a way to make a living. A lot of driving; you must provide your own vehicle to go to students’ homes and meeting places.
