Pros

friendly culture, HR is always ready to help you if you are experiencing any personal or family problems one can do absolutely nothing and get alone with it as long as you are a part of the "family" friendly culture for fresh graduates (but not so friendly when the business is underperforming or you are an experience hire with your own opinion) a good place to work if you are okay with doing exactly what you've been told to do and being paid accordingly (not good, not bad), expressing your thoughts and questioning the importance of the project is not encouraged

Cons

promotion and work allocation solely depends on your relationship with your manager and his manager, there are people who do nothing and get promoted because they are convenient to promote for incompetent middle and upper management. compensation is by far not the best on the street there is a lot of politics between engineering and modeling organizations middle and upper management do not seem to have expertise in business, but tend to be very nice to subordinates up until the PnL gets bad. It seems the result of the period of easy money, when many people got their positions solely on interpersonal skills and "lucky performance" performance is measured based on simulations rather than actual production, many people abuse it to "improve" their performance

Pros

Amazing People - I can't underscore this enough, the people here truly are incredible - friendly, approachable, sincere, hard working. Great Work Life Balance - As a parent, it's extremely important to me to be involved in my kid's lives. When I'm WFH, which is the majority of the time, I'm able to bring my kids to school in the morning and spend time with them after school and before dinner/bedtime, all without feeling like I'm neglecting my work. Excellent Benefits and Perks - Ample PTO, top notch health insurance, great snacks in the office, generous gifts at the holidays. The company really tries to take care of us. After a year+ and onboarding during a pandemic, I can't get over how impressed I am by the company culture. They are extremely inclusive, cognizant of different backgrounds, and seemingly accepting of everyone. I'm super happy I chose to come to Two Sigma and I'm looking forward to a long and productive career here.

Cons

On the days that I do go into the office (currently ~5 days per month), getting down to Canal St is kind of a pain. It is what it is, but it would be awesome if our offices were in a more commutable location for those coming in from outside Manhattan.

Pros

Great benefits, good people to work with for the most part

Cons

Boss was a micromanager who never liked me Asked multiple times per year for cross training, never got it Hired as a specialist in my field, then fell behind in my field because the company wouldn't make a decision on a technology strategy, then they laid me off for cost savings, and hired a contractor to replace two of us Never learned anything new while I was there
