Pros

Work remotely, some co-workers are nice

Cons

Management intentionally tries to not get things working correctly without bugs and instead tries to do things to gain more funding from the government or whatever organization the project is for. This means if you're a good worker you may get penalized or fired since their goal is to get more funding which may not fit in with the normal reasoning of getting everything working correctly without bugs

Pros

Some employees are genuinely hardworking and supportive of one another. Depending on the role, there can be exposure to interesting projects and systems.

Cons

Despite the company’s reputation and external recognition as a “top employer,” the internal employee experience may not always reflect that image. Communication from leadership can feel inconsistent, and expectations sometimes shift without clear direction. Employees who raise workplace concerns may feel discouraged by how those concerns are handled. In some cases, issues appear to be minimized or reframed rather than directly addressed, which can leave employees feeling unheard and unsure where to turn for support. Performance management processes can also feel unclear or subjective at times. Without consistent feedback or transparent standards, employees may struggle to understand how performance is evaluated or what is needed to succeed long-term. Benefits are another area where the company could improve. For a company of this size and reputation, the health insurance options are surprisingly limited and may be less competitive than what many employees expect. Overall, there can be a disconnect between the company’s public image and the day-to-day experience reported by employees.
