Can be great or terrible, depending on your department.

Pros

Fancy office buildings, free soda/coffee, several family and social events each year. Tyler has no real competition for local government software, so they are growing a lot. As soon as a viable competitor comes out though, they will lose a lot of market share.

Cons

Very few managers are trained in management, so some are naturally great, but a lot are terrible. Support teams and QA teams are paid very little. HR is not helpful at all, and often times hypocritical. Raises almost never exceed 2% per year. Executives are literally closed off in a separate part of the building, away from employees and are unapproachable. Tyler also sometimes fires long-standing employees with no explanation, causing a lot of fear. Very few promotion opportunities.

Pros

Good benefits, the employee stock plan (company stock has more than doubled over the last couple years), no micro managing, career opportunities, growing company.

Cons

No training or direction, not always proactive in development, lack of communication between departments.

Pros

Large company but each office location is like it's own family. Makes you feel like a small private company at times. Offers lots of room for advancement & growth. Also they offer lots of office perks including volunteer days/hours for full time employees.

Cons

The company is so large that if you reach out to headquarters sometimes it takes 1-2 days to get a response. And numerous times calls go un-returned.
