Pros

The only pro to this firm is you have the ability to work remotely.

Cons

I suspect that most of the positive reviews on here are written by management. I work in the San Diego office and this is the worse decision I could have ever made for my career. And I hear their LA office is worse. First, almost no one has worked in this office for more than a year. This firm is a lawyer mill. They recruit lawyers with promises of growth and opportunity yet they have no training and only their "favorites" experience any opportunity. Salaries and advancement are not based on achievement, there is no hr department and the management does not have a clue on how to manage. The firm touts being an industry leader, but I can assure you that their clients are being misled about their skill set. There is no structure and there are no incentives for bringing in business (not even if you negotiate). Also there is a really high turn over rate for attorneys, yet they have ads up every where offering thousands of dollars for attorneys to come work there. If you are thinking about working here do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Trust me.

Your experience is unusual for our current 300+ employees as we have made great strides in our administrative structure, adding many employees at all levels of management and HR since your time with us. While hiring and retention is the number one challenge of any large law firm in a thriving economy, our retention rate for employees is well above average for our industry. One of the many reasons our attorneys and staff remain at our firm is because of the opportunities for advancement we provide, with some attorneys making partner in as little as two years. We also provide almost constant training, with an entire educational program devoted to improving our employees%E2%80%99 abilities and skill levels.

- Great firm culture -> Attorneys and staff engage and interact on a daily basis - Good benefits - Management is super considerate and understanding

Cons

- Growing super fast so spacing tends to be an issue from time to time

Pros

Tyson & Mendes is the place to be for career advancement. Hard work is recognized and rewarded, and the owners truly care about their employees. I appreciate the culture of collaboration, the positive and supportive atmosphere, and being surrounded by hardworking, talented, and driven people. Because the firm is growing so quickly, there are plenty of opportunities to advance from within. If you devote the time and energy to produce superior work product, you will succeed.

Cons

As with all growing businesses, there are challenges. We opened a third building to address a growing space issue, but it would be nice for everyone in San Diego to be under one roof.
