Not a bad place to work for a few years...

Pros

Got great exposure to some pretty interesting deals and learned a lot about the underwriting process for large commercial loans.

Cons

Not much room for advancement, however. Senior managers seem to guard positions above your head jealously and seem to prefer hiring from the outside than promoting from within. Also, company tends to be cheap when spending money on employee development.

Pros

Desirable work hours for individuals balancing family and work life; decent respect for the professional title; extensive training with banking and finance practices and law.

Cons

Absolute expectation that home life is to never be a priority; rampant sexism in advancement opportunities, unscrupulous lending practices; poor managerial oversight of regulations for accounts post-employment.

Account hungry.

Pros

Stable company to work with and getting laid off is very unlikely. The training offered is adequate. Holiday pay and time off is okay.

Cons

Few opportunities for promotions. Contradictory goals of giving great customer service and pushing for sales (even when it is not in the best interest of the customer).
