Pros

Good work life balance. Movement between teams was encouraged. Open relationship between managers and individual contributors. Good compensation package and a good severance package after a layoff. Comparatively, this seemed to be a great bank to work for during my time.

Cons

A new CEO had taken control and they were implementing a return to office strategy before I was laid off. Many aspects were not defined and the CEO was very unsympathetic. Team-level leaders implemented the strategies with varying degrees of strictness. The new CEO seemed to be very fake and my follow-up with former coworkers surfaced negative shifts in salaries, diversity, and transparency. Hopefully the team-level managers are able to buffer some of these pain points.

Pros

Compensation increase every year, if you get in with a good manager there is lots of opportunity; lots of internal resources and workshops (especially tech), some really awesome individuals with real talent across teams

Cons

Don’t care for current CEO, senior management is not the worst but there could be a bit more honestly/personable, manager work life balance is Awful
