Pros

401K matching Continuing Education dollars Paid Time-Off is generous

Cons

No real strategy other than build the platform. Most VPs don't know how to think strategically. New CEO fired people who understood the secondary mortgage industry end-to-end in order to bring in his friends who really don't know the MBS capital markets side of the housing market. Many in the middle layer are micro managers instead of leaders who know how to motivate and grow their people. Little to no upward mobility. What little career growth opportunity there was, is gone.

Thank you for your honest feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your experience at CSS did not live up to your expectations. I take our culture and our leadership very seriously and we are working hard to build a company where everyone’s contributions are recognized and valued, even as we navigate what can be difficult and challenging changes. I appreciate your advice and your input and I wish you the very best in your future. Thank you, Tony Renzi, CEO, CSS

Pros

Great benefits, unlimited coffee flavors, start-up company atmosphere (minus the innovation)

Cons

Call-center seating arrangement including the inescapable sweatshop mentality and stench, dysfunctional senior leadership in the IT organization.

Awful management and toxic culture

Pros

Financial compensation and good people at staff and middle management.

Cons

Big picture: The go live for the one and only product is in June. The future afterwards is very unclear and upper management is largely expected to take their go live bonuses and run. Leaving behind the mess they created and an understaffed company nobody wants to join. Day to day: The lack of strategy and direction leads to frustration amongst the teams. While it is billed as a “startup” to innovate, the decisions are made by a few backstabbing individuals and ideas or projects are railroaded at any given moment. This leads to wasted efforts, dejected employees and even more confusion.
