Pros

I had great support as a researcher. Some PIs are more difficult to work with than others, so the important thing is finding a PI that is supportive.

Cons

Work is very much independent and you have to be motivated. You will likely spend more time on research than the typical 40 hours a week.

Pros

There are plenty of research labs, the courses have decent curves if things get too difficult, and there are always plentiful scholarship, internship, workshop, and job opportunities emailed out by the professional development advisors.

Cons

Some of the academic advisors do not help at all, the heat destroys your stamina during every season except winter, and you need a PC-type laptop in order to use the majority of the required software.
