Very Professional, Great Pay and benefits and a great working environment

Cons

Not really a "Con" but there is a lot of work and pressure to do well and produce.

Pros

UCR chemistry department is very small, and most research groups are also very small. Students know professors on a first name basis from all divisions of chemistry and are comfortable approaching them for help or advice. UCR is a top school to watch as our chemistry department's research competes with research leaders in their fields at top universities across the country.

Cons

The only con really, is Riverside itself. It is located in the Inland Empire so the weather is warm throughout the year.

Pros

The diverse intellectual community you get to work in, educational setting, beautiful well maintained campus, friendly staff, well taken care of by the community

Cons

Parking is expensive, weather very dry sunny and hot most of the year, can be bureaucratic to get help you need.
