      Posdoc-It all depends on you advisor

      Pros

      Pay and Benefits have improved with the union $39.2k/yr starting. Living in the Family housing (if you have a significant other and/or kids) also really can save you a lot of money on rent for up to two years and is very convenient to walk/bike to work. The southern California Climate is great. Summers are not nearly has hot as many people say and dry heat.

      Cons

      Some people lover Riverside. I do not. Air quality is poor in the summer and unless you like desert "beauty" then for most of the year it is an ugly place to live. The UC campus is nice though. The cons of being a postdoc... well if you don't know you aren't one.

      Great for students

      Pros

      I worked at various departments, going from a printing job to programming. -Best part is that your bosses will almost always be understanding of classes/midterms/finals. In other words, very flexible schedules -Good learning experience. Can usually learn a new language on the job, extremely useful for future jobs

      Cons

      -Can be boring sometimes. My first few jobs was just mindless scanning. Other office jobs are a lot of 'leave-you-alone' type of jobs.

      Pros

      Very diverse, highly engaging, dynamic faculty and strong student leadership, etc. The students here are absolutely amazing, and the staff and faculty are highly committed to their success.

      Cons

      I do not have anything negative to say about working at this amazing institution. I will admit that it is also my alma mater.
