Pros

Its fun and you meet lots of great people and connect to all the different UCR Departments.

Cons

The supervisors are too serious, they forget that we are college students and yes we should be professional but also you should let our personalities shine through so that prospective students can see our actual feelings and love for the school.

Pros

Met some of the greatest people, you will undeniably increase your speaking skills as a tour guide and will get to meet a plethora of people along the way. Your co workers are pretty much the people that keep you sane in this work. Hours are pretty flexible.

Cons

The pay is !@#$, as a tour guide you get paid basically minimum wage. On days that you are working there will be times where you will walk and talk for about 3-4 hours straight . super exhausting more so because there is no organization regarding how many tours may go out per time frame. This position has a lot of times when it becomes very taxing on you and may be somewhat of a pain. The most any "tour guide will make is 8.50" and raises only happen rarely. Also if you are an ambassador you learn more content and are more viable for tours but get paid just as much as someone that only has to learn one script. Worked there for quite a few years and was still paid the same.
