Pros

It has a good reputation. As a grad student, there is a good quality of faculties in general in the department of chemistry and biochemistry.

Cons

Like many academic institutions, practical concerns such as finding a job after graduating with a PhD isn't exactly a concern for the institution.

high quality research and relative free research environment. a lot of resource you can reach for your research at least cost

Cons

pressure, a lot of pressure from your mentor and the university. the living cost at los angeles is pretty high based on your income.
