Pros

Easy to get job, somewhat flexible hours depending on co-worker availability. I'll have to say that if you get a job during off-hours, it is a great way to get paid and also have time to study as well. Boss is friendly and doesn't get too mad.

Cons

Low pay, pretty boring, sometimes there are lots of special projects to work on, so not a lot of time studying on job, actually working. No food allowed.

Pros

vibrant work atmosphere with great facilities and strong young students who are willing to learn. An excellent environment for young scientists trying to expand their expertise.

Cons

As with any postdoctoral position, the pay is rather low. The hours are typically long and projects, because of their cutting edge nature, often experience setbacks. However, this is typical for basic scientific research.
