      Pros

      UCLA is a great place to work if you are in the right dept. Stable, many professional development opportunities but you have to be self motivated. No one will push you out of your comfort zone.

      Cons

      Salaries are much lower than outside the University.

      Pros

      Great flexibility, great job security, good place to retire, good benefits (health/vision/dental). Little to no stress, little overtime. More than average time off with many recognized holidays (Caesar Chavez, President's Day etc).

      Cons

      Low opportunities for growth, low salary compared to industry. Oftentimes, great work and good jobs go unnoticed or unappreciated. Employees pay for parking (approx $60+/month). Leadership and management is lackluster at best, if things are working well it's great but when it isn't don't expect any significant change. Some politics from higher and middle management that can negatively effect morale and work.
