Pros
Great hourly rates Good union representation for hourly pay
Cons
HR is VERY disorganized Occ Health is currently VERY disorganized. I understand its Covid, but they need to hire more people and come up with a better way to do things Hiring, transfer, etc is shady. They do absolutely nothing by the books. Transfers are done if they like you already and they are very biased There are hardly any policies and procedures for the Children's Hospital They do NOT value adequate training. For example, they do not have annual training stations to teach you and have you perform teach back of various procedures like trach suctioning, trach changes, insulin administration via pt own devices, continuous nebulizers, etc, even though these things happen on all floors They send a lot of email training information, but you don't have time to read any of it and don't get paid to read and review when not working There are multiple computer applications for everything, like training, timecards, paychecks, etc. It is confusing and difficult to find any information They claim to be welcoming to all, yet they have multiple violations for their own polices for housekeeping and the hospitality staff in general. For example, a CO-ED locker room for hospitality employees, who are disproportionately people of color! They also frequently spend less time with non-English speaking patients and rush through consents with non-English speaking patients versus white English speaking patients and families.
