      People are generally warm and willing to help if there are time and resources. Experience at UCSF is an interesting one. An experience Everyone can learn from.

      Salary is not competitive with the industry, non-standardized requirements for similar positions and inequality with compensation (huge disparity between minimum/maximum pay for the same position).

      Pros

      It is nice to work for an organization who's product is literally saving people's lives. There are lots of holidays and time off. Seems to be almost impossible to get fired.

      Cons

      CIO wants to outsource most functions of IT. Some people have been in the same position for over 10 years which leads to a lot of "that's how we do it" answers to questions about why things are done a certain way. There were layoffs a couple of years ago and most people are resistant to taking on any new tasks.
