Pros

They work with you on needing time off. There are usually many opportunites for advancement; and they offer tuition reimbursement. The Health Insurance offered is excellent along with the 401k.

Cons

The starting salary was much lower than what I had expected. Having worked at UF Health Gainesville they pay substantial more. They do not allow overtime or allow you to work part time in another department; which would be nice to make up the difference in the lower salary.

Pros

Depending on the department, employees can be congenial. Benefits are generally good. Pay depends on level of employment. Obviously if you're an RN with experience, MD, Manager, the pay is good. Otherwise, it all depends on the area & level of employment.

Cons

Obviously, it's important to be evaluated by a manager/supervisor within your area of expertise. Obviously, tenure in any given area depends on the manager/supervisor. What is not obvious is who is evaluating who; in a large department, it may be that other employees are providing feedback that one does not know about or know that it's happening. Then again, if you've been there a long time and have friends who will give you a great letter of support to your supervisor ... sweet. It's an unlevel playing field, to say the least.

Pros

The pay is excellent and the benefits are not too bad. The organization is a stable place to work. You do accumilate great PL hours

Cons

Organizational culture and beghavior is really bad. If you choose to educate yourself,m is it is not to be a nurse you can not move up in the organization. It is very bias and management does not care about the employees. You have to have very thick skin to work here!!!
