      Great company, but times have changed

      Pros

      Good compensation, good people, good commute. Flexible work schedule. Usually a resonable work/life balance. Strong senior management.

      Cons

      No career growth. Job security shaky. Tenured staff seen as a liability not an asset. Line level management needs more training developing staff. No growth in U.S. Engineering organization in a good economy. Layoffs in a bad economy.

      Pros

      Company appears to value customers and try to do the right thing by them. Good Product innovation and have been open to suggestions to make things better and have actually implemented them. Challenged to provide new ideas. Was told by my wife's doctor that we have the best insurance coverage they have seen in a long time.

      Cons

      Can lose a sense of "company" by being a remote worker. Product managers do sometimes have too much influence on processes.

      Resources easily obtainable - you can usually get what you need Financial stability - company has done well consistently Work/life balance - parking lot is empty by 5:00

      Flippant decision making - today's focus is quality; tomorrow's is saving money Performance and comp unrelated - raises are given across the board regardless of productivity "Old boys' club" environment - if your not in the right cliques, you'll never get anywhere
