      Pros

      That I'm management, really there isn't anything else positive to say about UL! I can not tell my friends or ENEMIES to work here! It is not a place to grow in. They do not work with current or past Military in any way. Unless they are threatened with a lawsuit. The Human Resources does not abide by the Handbook, but they will be sure those "employees" they do not appreciate do! Close toed shoes not appropriate in HR or for those who are "too popular"! Or shall we say sleeping with "the correct ones"!

      Cons

      Too many to list! See above! Most management only cares about numbers numbers numbers, and does nothing to help the staff to get them. Training is not there! Especially in CS or International Anything! Laws are broken daily in this areas especially in our International Departments, go there and see for yourself. Never have I had to try to work with such a horrid department in my entire life!

      Pros

      Great people employed by UL The most part. They are smart and eager to do the right thing without cutting corners. The work is rewarding and there is always something new to learn.

      Cons

      Management is one of the big drawbacks at Underwriters labs inc. They expect employees to do incoming producing work without proper tools. Too many meetings to tick a check mark in their goals. Everyone complains - but can't let management know because they don't know how to accept criticism. There is a lot of cronyism. They find creative ways to reduce your ranking so they can take bonus money away from you and reward their favorites. Too much things to do that do not add to the bottom line.

      A couple of nice people, the work can be interesting

      Cons

      The worst management I have ever encountered; absolutely no room for advancement; extremely high employee turnover rate; if you're hired as a temp, you will not be hired permanently as promised, you will just be strung along for as long as you can stand it; mandatory over time EVERY week; the morale in the office is the lowest I have ever seen anywhere. They have no concept of work life balance. Please, if you value your sanity and happiness, do not work here.
