Pros

I enjoyed my time there.

Cons

Do not offer state benefits now, they went corporate route. Pay is below state and federal median. 10years behind on technology for safety and security. Directors, VP’s, presidents are disconnected from staff. Only involved when situation affect them directly. Bias is present disguised as Equality and equity. Spending is focused on what looks good on the surface and not what is need for health and safety of all. Management is trained or have knowledge in some areas of what their employees job duties actually are. Spending on vehicles for management staff to take home to drive back a forth from home to work. Under the reasoning that they will get called in. In my experience over the years one of them has came in after hours less than a handful of times. Depending on the vehicle you are looking at 50k per vehicle plus gas. Retaliation on employees that speak up is there despite what management says. Been witnessed several times. HR, who states they are there to protect the employee do the opposite. Training is only for the selected few and mostly for managers and above.

Pros

Love my team mates, providers (in my area) and patients. Learned a lot

Cons

Very low pay when national, state, and local averages are considered. Parking is ridiculous (having to pay hundreds of dollars to do park and ride or, if seniority allows, to park in decks. Heavy workload with little to no compensation. Not much benefit of staying except to be vested (if you can make it that amount of time). Often, middle management has their hands tied when it comes to advocating for their staff in regard to hours, pay, treatment and benefits. People are getting run into the ground. Upper management only seems to care about how much money can be made for the hospital..not about how to retain good staff that the have already. Many good nursing staff, tech staff and APPs have left during the few years I have been here. Big discrepancy between ideals of care and continuity of care with some providers. Tumultuous inner workings/politics tied to lack of competent care of patients (a lot of times having to do with egos and not wanting to take patients into service due to how it will make them (providers) look). I was never concerned about that with the providers that I worked closest with but definitely observed the aforementioned countless times. Many things that have been ethically concerning/bordering on negligence.
