      Pros

      An incredible hospital nationally recognized and located in a great area. The focus is on helping the people which makes any job more worthwhile.

      Cons

      It can often be a dull environment with spotty leadership. I work in the business offices, so we don't get much action.

      Pros

      The benefit package is one of the best around. Also, I have not met a staff member who didn't show respect for their patients or other staff members. The value of teamwork is definitely shown daily to me. Upper levels of Management listen to their employees. My unit has monthly outings where we can all get together and de-stress if we need to. The hospital itself is on the cutting edge of technological procedures and cures for diseases. Many people from all over Eastern and Central North Carolina utilize the services they provide.

      Cons

      The employer is in the healthcare field and operates 24 hours a day/365 days a year. You can be called in at anytime to work. There is a fee to park on campus. However, there is free parking but you have to allow extra time to be at your work area on time.

      Pros

      The pension plan is great if you want to make a career at UNC. Also, very generous academic assistance plans.

      Cons

      Cons are it's a state hospital, so there can be bureaucracy and waste. The state budget also has greater implication on the job.
