Pros

Strong systems and processes in place for safeguarding against fraud, corruption and also ensuring that cross-cutting issues such as the environment and gender are being addressed.

Cons

Significant bureaucracy which prevents the agency from always delivery against objectives or implementing innovative approaches. Treatment of staff is also mixed depending on the senior management team in place.

Pros

UNDP is committed to improving the livelihoods of marginalized communities, and the staff truly lives by this goal. The projects adopt integrated approaches to sustainability and there is real potential to influence public policy. The work environment is great: highly motivated staff, challenging tasks, friendly atmosphere and a lot of like-minded people working to improve the world!

Cons

It can get pretty hectic and stressful at times. Work-life balance was not great.
