Pros

As being a UNV, it can be an entry point to have a thorough experience in United Nations project, programs and procedures.

Cons

UNV is not considered as UN Staff and apparently no direct way from management to support "staffing" of UNVs.

Pros

There are funds to do thing and there are plenty of inspirational individuals in the organisation. One rapidly gets experience that is hard to get in NGOs.

Cons

Amazing bureaucracy and a legacy of old staff who completely lack ambition. Incompetence, unethical behaviour, and waste are too commonplace - which will erode motivation for anyone who is not there to ensure a good salary and a future pension.

Pros

Their mission in very appealing and broad which allows them to do lots of things in different areas. Big network of talented and specialized development professionals.

Cons

Due to the broad mandate UNDP does too much and not always good. Should also do more on talent scouting and promotion.
