Pros

It's the UN! The staff is made up of dedicated professionals from all over the world. The mission and the work to eradicate poverty is laudable. There are some opportunities to learn and to work in other countries.

Cons

It's bureaucratic -- with good reason, it's an international organization that has to work with most of the countries on Earth, and that requires bureaucracy -- but it can be frustrating. Funding for UNDP has been going down and job security is not great.
