Pros

UNICEF certainly has name-brand recognition, and for that reason, even an unpaid internship can be prestigious and look good on the resume.

Cons

In my particular experience, I wasn't utilized to the fullest, or anywhere near the fullest, of my capabilities. In terms of skills and professional development, it was a waste of time.

Pros

UNICEF's mission is important nd it's work is critical. You'll find lots of smart, committed people from all over the world, and learn a lot about the logistics and politics of humanitarian aid. The compensation is good for consultants, though they'll see no benefits.

Cons

The bureaucracy and office politics are overwhelming. The organization hires mid level professionals for entry level work and often allows them to stagnate.
