      Pros

      Great care provided within the hospital- made me proud to work for a great hospital. Lots of PTO. Accrual of 2 weeks throughout the year with the option to buy a week of PTO as soon as you start. Lots of "Perks" with other businesses which provided discounts with other companies on their products and services. Career pathing in many departments is very clear.

      Cons

      Culture of micromanagement seemed to run deep. Many complaints about low salaries, within HR as well. 10% cap rule on internal increases made it difficult for someone who came up through the ranks within UPMC. UPMC should be congratulating employees and thanking them for their accomplishments and loyalty. UPMC should not have a rule in place that makes it a better for employees to leave and come back in order to get a salary that new hires are receiving.

      Pros

      I can't find even one pro to working for this company. Poor pay and if your check is short, you have to call Laverne in payroll to fight for the balance. People are promoted for poor performance..supervisor only talks about herself...I'm trying this diet, I went shopping, do you think I am pretty. Shut up! Management K is negative and talks behind employee and management backs and then sleeps at her desk. No employee culture. Micromanagement. The worst management team I have ever experienced. I also find it is sad that they outwardly target an employee to get them fired. Horrible!

      Low pay, no respect, terrible management. Worst employee culture. Nothing good about this company. If you are offered a job with promises..don't accept it. Run!

      - Benefits are good and reasonably priced - Job and hours are flexible if you have a manager that is good. - Chances to learn new things if you take the initiative

      Cons

      - Pay is low - Not a high-performance work culture - Most people are resistant to change - Lots of bureaucracy and power plays - Not a culture of teamwork - Big disconnects between the work that needs to be done and executive management.
