Pros

- Hospital network makes referrals and inter-professional collaboration easy - Many high quality people work there - Health insurance benefits are fairly good

Cons

- Puts profits above patient care and safety - Pushed to see more patients, the only way to be viewed as "high performer" is averaging >15 visits per day - No time allocated to documentation. Either do this instead of spending time with your patients, or do it at home on your own time - Upper management structure and efficiency is a joke, there are numerous VP's who provide little to no value to the company despite being high earners. They do not communicate with the staff under them or, so it seems at times, do virtually anything in their day to day - Pay is laughable. 20% lower than surrounding areas while also seeing higher volume patients - Bonus structure is misleading and over-estimated during interview and onboarding process - "Raises" are enough for management to say they did so but are hardly even noticeable - Most providers struggle to stay more than 5 years due to burn out and frustration with this system

Pros

The benefits are fairly decent.

Cons

My advice is to stay away from this call center. If they don't like you, the hours you spend working there will become ever more miserable. Why might they not like you? They might feel professionally insecure, or perceive that you're different in some way, or perhaps they're simply bullies (who have learned to say the right words to the right people.) The job is made needlessly challenging. The documentation, which you must rely on to do your job, is disorganized and difficult to access. You're required to document every call, thoroughly and with accuracy, but you'll be unnecessarily rushed, and timed. It's a bizarre contradiction. You'll have no control over your outcome. It feels like, if 'leadership' wants you to succeed, you will succeed in some way, however, if they want you to fail, they can find a way to make that happen. They ask for feedback but, beware. Your feedback might later be brought up as a strike against you, as has happened in my situation. Truly, when they ask for suggestions for improvement, do not take the bait. UPMC benefits are nice. By all means look for a job within this company. But give the call center a wide, wide berth. You're better than this.

Pros

The staff I work with make a great team and most of the patients are great to take care of.

Cons

Benefits are terrible and management won’t take the time to listen to staff to understand the real problems that we need fixed. Everyone has worked through conditions no one should experience over the last year and they have given nothing in return to employees. Staffing shortages are so bad on every floor and they still refuse to give anyone raises.
