Pros

*It's a large company *Pay is decent

Cons

*Management runs the company like the military. Don't be surprised if you are yelled at in front of co-workers. Don't be surprised if you are asked to go in to work at any hour based on management's discretion, regardless of how many hours you've been at work already. *Promotion opportunities are low *Drivers are union so they typically hate management *Management is required to wear suits, how old school is that?

Pros

UPS provides great entry level management opportunities. WIth relative ease one can achieve p/t management promotion and begin to develop skills that will assist you as you transition into your career.

Cons

UPS expects p/t supervisors to permanently stay in their positions. Many employees are lured out of the union into p/t supervisor status only to discover years later that this was an unwise choice. If you have no desire of attending college do not accept a p/t supervisor position as this will almost certainly guarantee that you remain a p/t employee indefinitely. Also, many high seniority union employees make terrific wages while f/t management receives mediocre compensation juxtaposed to the extended hours (60 +) work weeks they endeavor.
