How to derail a supply chain without even trying

*Upper management has no real conception of the importance of inventory, preferring to focus disproportionate attention on the production side until the problems in the former catch up with them *Poor discipline among the workforce even on a good day *Basic hygienic/prophylactic measures against disease are consistently ignored *Anti-union to the point a rule regarding solicitation, which is transparent in its intent to snub the dispersal of union literature, is still on the books even though the NLRB ruled in 2011 that said rule was a violation of the National Labor Relations Act Section (8)(a)(1) Source: UPS SCS, 357 N.L.R.B. 1295 (N.L.R.B-BD 2011) *State COVID-19 mask mandates are not enforced *PIT operators exhibit poor safety practices; in one instance a PIT driver trying to fit into an area narrower than their vehicle nearly knocked over a pallet of product on top of me. *Trainers are basically non-existent, I had barely been on the job for a month when I had found myself acting as an impromptu trainer for a new supervisor in handling erroneous orders, or in other words, Exceptions *Attempts to maintain any semblance of 5S/6S standards are futile, most changes will barely last a day, two at most. *Employee morale is effectively non-existent *On a more personal note, my motivations when working are not governed by a desire for money. They are governed by my pride in my work. But with how these facilities are managed, and with how often I’m bounced around from one type of work to the other, I’ve had only two days that I can recall feeling as if I’ve accomplished anything. This tends to be my metric of how long I’m willing to stay with a company. And at this point the prognosis is unfortunately quite poor. I’m going to try to stick it out for as long as I can, but this chaos and lack of proper direction from above cannot continue. Not only will it contribute to higher employee turnover, as they are currently seeing, but I fear it could result in loss of contracts with their customers some day.
