Pros

The concept of the mission is good, but it leaves a lot to be desired with implementation. Work life balance is definitely a thing. Work from home option is great. Lots of flexibility with schedule. Some of the prior service civilian workers are some of the most chill and down to earth people I have met, but I disliked a lot of the civilians, as they were clearly out of touch with reality and the mission. If you're looking to collect a paycheck while losing all your engineering skills, this is a good place to go vegetable until retirement for poor pay.

Cons

Aberdeen is an absolutely terrible location, the base is desolate especially outside normal working hours, no real innovation happening, most of management and coworkers are really just either collecting a paycheck or clawing their way up the chain at the expense of all others. Management and civilian coworkers are delusional in thinking that they are creating things of impact and spin things into sounding more impressive than they are in an attempt to stir interest, but the reality is quite dull. If you are capable, you will be worked like a dog to get cheap labor out of you for a half-assed solution you create on the cheap instead of purchasing a solid commercial solution and integrating it properly to needs, or you are a glorified purchase agent with incredibly limited funds. If you are an engineer looking to learn and grow, stay away from this place.

Pros

Competitive salary and benefits are great, especially if you can land in a good location.

Cons

Poor organizational management. The Army continues to "do more with less" by stacking additional responsibilities on a diminishing workforce, even though several requirements are often time wasted.
