Pros

great salary and benefits, especially for someone with little or no training in other skills, constantly changing activities and opportunities to travel and receive specialized training.

Cons

most likely everyone will serve in a combat zone, promotion system can be a little unfair, poor supervisors (when you encounter them) are a huge obstacle

Pros

Besides the pride of serving your country, the benefits are very good, your medical is around $60 dollars a month, dental is about $40 and this two are for the whole family. Your education benefits are also good The Montgomery GI bill starting at $48,000 and up to $87,000, also we get $4,500 every year to use for college, with college costs on the rise new and old students looking for a hand in education should take the military into consideration and not look at it as a last option. Housing allowance depending on the cost of living of the area $1,900 for housing in the Palm Springs area in California. The friendships you build are priceless.

Cons

Deployments, being away from the family, the difference in pay between Sergeants and officers is entirely too big. Some Sergeants now days have higher education degrees than some officers, but yet the officers are getting the biggest paycheck to put their signatures on papers. (really that's it)
