Pros

The Army helps young people find themselves and grow proffessionally and personally. It also has good benifets for college and medical.

Cons

You are away from your family to much and for too long. It doesn't prepare you for the world outside because the Army is it's own community.

Pros

Great opportunity to protect and serve your country. You learn everything from how to take care of/protect yourself and others. Great benefits for school.

Cons

Sometimes promotions don't come by so easily. A lot of hurrying up and waiting. Because many are employed by the US Army, positions are hard to find in the area you want to serve.

Pros

The US Army is a great place to start on your educational goals and to travel. It pays your tuition so that you can have a degree by the time you leave and it enables you to travel the world.

Cons

Downside would be if you are a single-parent, it is very difficult to balance the two if you are in a job and/or a unit in which you may be recalled at a moments notice.
