Pros

It's a great way to serve your country. The Army has so many thing to offer people, no matter what your goals are it is a good way to learn what is out there. If you are a young man or lady and you are not sure what type of career you want to go into or your just not ready to step into college, the army is a great place to start. You can explore different careers and start slowly working on your advanced education. You may also fined it is a good career in it's self and stay for 20 years plus. you get full medical for you and your family, your education paid for. 30 days vacation a year and a whole lot of other goodies to.

Cons

You might not become a millionaire.

Pros

Job Security, Resume builder, promotion opportunities, decent income, benefits, 30 days per year vacation, travel, fast pace, challenging atmosphere, whatever your interest there is a job for you!, education opportunities, GI Bill, housing, support for the defense of our nation, advanced weapons training, the chance to manage logistics, operations, and personnel at the same time, physical fitness,

Cons

frequent deployments, many incompetent people at all levels, Often a very negitive and unhealthy atmosphere full of yelling and "finger pointing", not knowing what the future may throw at you in terms of where you will live, exactly what you will be doing, planning challenges - most plans are never executed, often conflicting demanding instructions given from leaders at various levels

Pros

The benefits are great. No other employer is going to pay extra for your rent or mortgage. Vision, Dental, Medical insurance are all covered. Everyone is pretty much treated the same with EEO being a pretty big deal.

Cons

15 month deployments put you out of touch with your family, skewing the work / life balance. Even while at home, work hours can extend into the evening, making "overtime" a laughing matter. Senior leadership is out of touch with the reality that faces the entry level guys, and don't address the issues that matter.
