      I'm pleased to have been a contributor to the success of the major operations of the 2010 Census.

      Pros

      You are crossed trained in many different departments, which enhances your overall office skills. In the Field Operations department, we were not micro-managed. We were able to use our own individual strengths to get our responsibilities done well, efficient and effective.

      Cons

      The major operations of the 2010 Census didnt last long, as expected. As much as I would have loved to continue to be a team member, the possibility was slim. The major offices are permanent, but there hasnt seemed to be many job oportunities available.

      Pros

      The US Census Bureau fosters many great employees. I worked with some great co-workers. The work itself is manageable and really makes an impact in the community.

      Cons

      There were really not too many cons to working for the United States Census Bureau. The only downside was that my particular job was only temporary and not permanent.

      Great opportunity to grow in a decennial environment, great innovation and respected workplace. Detractor, a little instability right now with the political climate. Overall great!

      Detractor, a little instability right now with the political climate. The research is solid but so many don't understand its importance. Need to work on public image.
