Pros

Get to walk around outside, stay on your feet, and engage with the public. You also get paid decently as a supervisor, if you actually get to work. Overtime was a perk, but not exactly doled out generously.

Cons

They love to keep you guessing about when you'll work, how much you'll work, and generally treat you like cattle. The leadership was cut-throat and abrupt, and non-communicative. Directors quit, new directors were tyrants, and the supervisors from LA were austere.

Pros

Flexible work hours, independence, meeting new people, exploring new areas of the county I work in. No paperwork.... all work, interviewing of respondents, payroll, training takes place on supplied laptop. Health insurance provided with shared costs, FERS retirement/TSP, paid leave, paid sick time.

Cons

Field Rep is a relatively low paying position. Field Reps are treated differently than in-office personnel, no paid holidays, a part time position.....you can never become full-time in this position even if you work 40 hours/week regularly. While there is a quality control process in place it is up to the Rep to choose the level of quality of all work completed.
