Pros

Great agency, good pay, flexible hours. Really enjoyed my almost 18 months of employment. Never got the impression that my advanced age played any role in any endeavor.

Cons

None that stand out. Even worked during 11 months of 2020 during the pandemic and they took very good care of us.

Pros

Reimbursement for mileage was paid to scale

Cons

Expected to go to unsafe neighborhoods, at night, alone Expected to "stalk" residents to fill out a voluntary census survey Managers treat employees horribly "Set your own hours" means work when they tell you too

Pros

Before I worked at The Census I had no idea how complex and important it is. I loved the opportunity to learn more about how this government function operates. The people are amazing. They're devoted to the mission and the integrity of The Census and wonderful colleagues.

Cons

The Census has a lot of disorganization and mixed messages. They also do a lot of things in extremely inefficient, old-school ways.
