Pros

job security, stable workload, set procedures to follow, decent benefits package

Cons

If you are a white male you will never be hired or promoted because it's not politically correct, zero budget for training means no professional development, very political with favoritism/nepotism, high workload for the salary, very difficult to transfer, no opportunity for advancement or growth.

Pros

Decent insurance benefits, Thrift Savings Program (TSP), work-life balance is pretty good.

Cons

Zero flexibility in scheduling. Unable to work from home in any capacity. Low salaries. Expected to do more with less (FSA lost 20% of its workforce in 2025). Constant changes from federal level that make no sense in practicality on the county level.
