Pros

Seemed like an American Company that cared about their workers. Truth is they only care about the share holders.

Cons

One third of SBS will be let go so US Foods can OFFSHORE jobs via Accenture to India, Mumbai. At a time when American Workers depend on American Jobs they are being let go and replaced with offshored services to better line the share holders pockets. Accenture just posted their worst earnings ever, and yet US Foods continues to not realize how terrible of an idea this is. Once the vendors start getting messed up from this it will quickly snowball downhill.

Toxic & Incompetent Leadership

Pros

Decent benefits, some nice people in the trenches

Cons

Nothing but a good ole' boys club at the core. Massively lacking in diversity, especially in leadership. Openness to diverse candidates is hit or miss depending on the area/manager/department, some are much more hostile than others. Leadership is chosen based on popularity within the club which in turn leads to most leadership being massively unqualified. Sales is where this is most extreme. It creates a stagnant pool of ideas & ways of doing things. No problems are ever actually fixed, more of a keep throwing the same stuff at the wall and see what sticks type of place. Aggressive culture/relationship between departments in certain markets, not a very collaborative environment. Different departments have little to no understanding of one another which leads to the tension. Not a learning-friendly environment as communication between departments is hostile at times. Can't blame them as communication in general here is HORRIBLE. Leadership will play dumb most of the time meaning you are solely responsible for learning about & understanding any and all corporate communications/changes. If you're in the trenches or not in the good ole boys club, expect to do most of the work and receive none of the credit. Expect to get the blame for the popular people/departments incompetence & mistakes,

Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

I’ve read a few other reviews and I’m not sure what these other people are talking about but this company is awful. For starters, they have no direction as to where they’re going. The leadership from the top down is a joke. They make big claims about changing the culture or wanting the culture to change in general but that’s all it is, claims and talk. One of their core values is talk straight, which anyone who has ever worked for us foods or is currently working for us foods can tell you, it’s a sham. They don’t really want you to talk straight and if you do, you might find yourself unemployed, as I’ve seen happen to a few folks. The bottom line is that US Foods is a very toxic place to work, they talk out of both sides of their mouth and they have no direction with the company other than get cases out and maintain or grow business for the market. They have a very weird hierarchy as well with man managers or presidents that simply aren’t needed, they are wasting vast amounts of money because of this and greatly need a restructure.
