Pros

Hands on and the ability to learn a lot about immigration law and how the federal government does and doesn't work.

Cons

Its for the federal government. Its tedious, boring work that has to get done

Pros

Pros of working for ICE are you get the same perks as other fed jobs- flexible schedule, not much overtime, more annual/sick leave than most companies. There are no additional benefits working for ICE.

Cons

The one word I would use to describe ICE is disfunctional. I worked for the office of the CFO, and the management was just terrible. They didn't seem to care much about employee morale, only meeting metrics, which is almost impossible to meet with low morale. Also, there was a lot of dead weight that should have been shed, but that's also impossible to do with career feds. This was my first fed job after spending several years in corporate America, and it was an eye opening experience. There are a handful of really great people who keep everything running, but the remainder of the staff are pretty disengaged.

Pros

The company offered decent pay and that's about it. The rest of what I am saying is just filler to meet the twenty word minimum.

Cons

Driving to multiple locations daily, standard employee benefits, no organizational culture, and the worst manager I have ever had in my life.
