Pros

Unbelievably great co-workers who are problem solvers with a great sense of humor… get to see the world…. Cool, challenging, and important work so you feel good when you do a good job.

Cons

Might be gone 100 nights out of the year or more (and that’s not during an election year), and that is before you go to your full-time protection detail, which has now been pushed from a six year to an eight year commitment.

Pros

You get paid to see the world.

Cons

You are never home, especially during campaign years. I came from a great agency where everyone appreciated you, and with USSS, that is not the case.
