Pros

I had lot of autonomy to do my best and learned so many different aspects of research (administration and grants management) when working as a research coordinator. The medical benefits provided by UTHealth is awesome!

Cons

There are many layers you have to go through when it comes to approving expenses

Pros

Friendly coworkers, thoughtful and caring management, flexibility in the workplace. I enjoyed the insurance benefits. I was also able to publish a research paper with my team. In all it was great clinical experience.

Cons

Working with MDs and PhDs sometimes means little experience with supervising others, so communication and organization was sometimes poor.
