      Pros

      One of the main benefits was that everyone that worked there treated each other as humans. Politics was mostly non-existent within the group. Very family friendly, and flexible working times. Interesting challenges, and a great freedom for an individual to introduce new ideas and projects.

      Cons

      Salaries are a bit below market for the area. Politics in dealing with physicians can sometimes become arduous. Little room in budget for any training beyond purchasing books.

      This job provided a great place to build a foundation for a job after college, also an interesting work environment that exposes you to a variety of laboratory techniques; there is the opportunity for collaboration with research professionals. The hours for this job were very flexible, and there was always something to do.

      Cons

      You will have to engage in some repetitive tasks: data entry, media making, specimen processing; co-workers sometimes not reliable
