Pros

Almost has a charitable feel to choice of rare disease research and IP. Very satisfying personally.

Cons

Worst politics I've ever experienced. Completely see through cronyism for all upper management and even many mid level positions. Hire and even firing of political allies and enemies completely overt. The political train is well and truly full steam heading away from any sort of common sense, proper experience, or trustworthiness. Insane workload across most departments. Company has bitten off more than it can chew and expanded too quickly. Cannot hire or even provide space quickly enough for the minimum number of employees required. Results in the ridiculous work load and destruction of work life balance.

There are some really great people here. Unfortunately, the good ones leave shortly after joining.

Cons

This company has a very deceiving relocation package for those relocating to the Bay Area. The teams are extremely junior and not only will you need to do your job but also the job of others. There is complete disorganization and the only people who do not leave are those that are attempting to build a resume out of college and those who live close to their North Bay offices. The entire company is micromanaged by the CEO where every decision needs to pass through him. The company is disorganized from roles and responsibilities to the studies themselves. I've never seen a more stressed out group of coworkers in my 15 year career.
